Public Education
As a teaching assistant at the University of Iowa, Anna has worked with students entering higher education from Iowa's K-12 school systems. Many of her students have mentioned feeling that they were not given the tools they need in order to succeed. Anna believes that Iowa needs to be a place that prioritizes public education, as a properly funded school system is a vital component to a functioning society. All of Iowa's students deserve to have access to a quality education, no matter their background. As a representative, Anna Banowsky would vote to ensure that public dollars stay in public schools and that students are given the opportunities to learn according to their abilities.

Economic Growth
One of the things that first drew Anna to the town of Washington was the vibrancy of the downtown area. It was apparent from the number of shops and restaurants that this town was full of opportunity. Washington is able to be a place of opportunity because of the community- it is a town that people want to live in, whether they were raised here of found community here later in life. Anna Banowsky wants to ensure that all of District 92 is a place of opportunity for everyone. As a representative, she would vote to make sure that housing remains affordable in order to attract more people to the communities that make up this district and to protect the small businesses that make this opportunity possible.

Reproductive Rights
Reproductive rights are vital, as the choice of if, when, and how to become a parent is a hugely personal choice- and a choice that is best kept between the individual and a healthcare provider. Over the past several years, we have seen Republican-controlled state legislatures pass total bans on abortion and restrict access to contraceptives. Anna Banowsky does not believe that these restrictions are what's best for Iowa, nor do they reflect the opinions of the Iowans she knows. In rural areas like District 92, these restrictions could cause healthcare providers to leave the community, causing further disparity in healthcare access. As a representative, Anna Banowsky would vote to protect reproductive rights.
